About ME

My entire life has been wrapped up in the sweet puppy kisses, wagging tails and furry cuddles of the canine experience!  Having been raised in agriculture, I've always been passionate about animals whether it's been barn kittens, bottle-fed calves, spring foals or precious puppies.  My favorites were always the horses and the puppies!  Though I've found my passion in the Australian Shepherd breed, I love ALL breeds of dogs and could not possibly discriminate against any of them!  One of the great blessings in showing my Australian Shepherds is the opportunity to go to the shows and experience the diverse beauty on display from Chihuahuas to Irish Wolfhounds and everything in between!  As a child, I was raised with my father's passion for good hunting dogs and the companionship of a dedicated Australian Shepherd named, "Freckles."  My father's family were avid hunters from East River (South Dakota) and our family get-togethers looked like a Labrador Retriever Convention (they still do)!  My mother's family was made up of farmers and ranchers from the East River country who utilized the skills of Australian Shepherds and German Shepherds to help guard their homes and tend to livestock in addition to being dedicated family members.  Though I'm very prejudice in my beliefs, there is no richer experience in life than growing up in the agricultural environment surrounded by nature and all it's life lessons!!!  When I grew up and left home, I plunged into a serious passion for the Rottweiler breed.  My love for the Rotties is what led me into the dog show world and I've never turned back!  Over the years, I've been blessed to own a variety of breeds from Rottweilers, Australian Cattle Dogs (heelers), Border Collies, Dobermans, Great Danes, German Shepherds, Brittany Spaniels, Dachshunds and of course, my beautiful Australian Shepherds. 

Throughout all the years and experiences of my canine passion, my heart has remained true to the Australian Shepherd.  Within my chosen breed, I have a serious preference for the dark, rich beauty of the Black Tri coat pattern.  It is my favorite and my focus when it comes to choosing puppies or planning litters.  If it's true that "variety is the spice of life, " our breed can provide "spice" from one end of the spectrum to the other in everything from talent and color to personality and spirit.  This breed is truly the most versatile!     

                                                                                                  

Over the years I've had several fellow Aussie enthusiasts ask me why I'm so attracted to the conformation ring vs. the other Aussie venues.  It certainly isn't because I'm a terribly competitive person, however, I love ALL things beautiful!  There's nothing more lovely than a group of conformationally flawless Aussies floating through the show ring going round n round!!!  It's important for me to be surrounded by beauty, and I've found that beauty in the conformation world of the Australian Shepherd.

 

Everyone has a calling in life.  I'm sure that the fulfillment I receive as the caretaker of BellaHara South is my calling.  From the by-gone days of my childhood on our family's farm to my current standing as "BellaHara South's Alpha Queen," there is no greater blessing than to love and be loved by the dedicated puppy dog souls who've filled my life and made it a cherished, worthwhile experience for myself and my family.  What our animals give us is a glimpse into the best of what life has to offer- innocense, trust, selfless dedication and love.  What could possibly be better???
